India is one of the world’s largest producers of white rice and brown rice, accounting for 20% of the world rice production. Rice is India’s pre-eminent crop and is the staple food of the people of eastern and southern parts of the country. In Nashik District, Igatpuri Block is popular for rice production. In Ghoti area, many farmers are engaged in rice farming. Varieties namely Indrayani, 1001 and Sonam are cultivated in Khed Block.

Our caretaker will be more than happy to introduce you to a local farmer with whom you can experience, depending on the season, either sowing, reaping or harvesting Paddy on our farm, with the farmers.
